Mother’s Day
Today can bring up a lot of different emotions.
Mother’s Day can be a beautiful day for some, but for many, it can also feel heavy, complicated, or even painful.
This day can hold so many different experiences:
For those who have lost their mom
For mothers grieving the loss of a child
For those longing to become a parent
For those navigating a complicated or estranged relationship
If this day feels difficult for you, I want you to know I understand. You are not alone.
There is no one way to feel on Mother’s Day.
Whatever emotions come up, whether it’s sadness, anger, numbness, anxiety, or even moments of peace or gratitude, all of it is allowed.
There is no “right way” to move through today.
If it helps, you might gently:
Lower expectations for the day
Take breaks from social media
Spend time in a way that feels comforting to you
Allow yourself to feel what you feel, without judgment
Nurture yourself and treat yourself to something special
